Rehearsals start at the former Théâtre Récamier,
or in the "Escande" Room
situated in the basement of the Salle
Richelieu and then, one month
before the première, take place on the stage. They are
attended by one of the Assistant Stage Managers who
follows the production throughout its creation, its run and
its revival. He or she notes staging instructions,
organises schedules and ensures proper liaison between
the artistic and technical teams.
Each production also has a Stage Manager who organises
and follows up rehearsals from the technical angle. He or
she is the real "pilot" of the performance,
making sure that all goes well, calling up actors for
their entrance on stage, cueing set changes, and
supervising set-ups and lighting.
