Readings |
Different types of play readings are organised, some more elaborate than others, with stage settings or texts provided, allowing both actors and audience to appreciate the theatrical qualities of a given text. The Comédie-Française puts on Saturday play readings with several actors, the Samedis du Vieux-Colombier, as well as literary salons (Salons littéraires) at the Studio-Théatre, in which an actor reads texts by a given author. There are also Literary (Littéraire) evenings for texts other than plays (such as novels, short stories, correspondence, etc.) read by one or several actors, and poetry readings (Poétique). |
