Custodial institutions

The Comédie-Française develops tailored and bespoke projects to extend access to its productions to audiences who are unable to attend in person.

Audiovisual programme

Broadcast schedules on secure internal video channels have been in place since March 2020 for custodial institutions.

Between 400 and 600 people in each institution benefit from these provisions, with programming adjusted according to the audiences and the specific challenges they face.

The Comédie-Française has created video programmes for around twenty broadcast days, including:

  • a selection of all-audience productions, tales, major classics, musical productions performed in our venues, and Théâtres à la table

  • Le spectacle en quelques mots, short videos made by actors and actresses of the Troupe introducing their profession, the Maison, and the production being broadcast

  • Les Cinq Premières Minutes, testimonials in which members of the Troupe share an unforgettable theatre memory from their experience as an audience member

Practical arts workshops

To accompany the broadcast of productions, mediation activities relating to the Comédie-Française, as well as writing, reading, theatre practice and make-up workshops, may be offered to on-site audiences.

Partnership agreements

Audiovisual programmes and mediation and practical arts workshops organised within institutions are governed by partnership agreements.
