Teaching audiences
As a conservatoire of theatrical arts and techniques, the Comédie-Française is a leading centre for the support of teachers in the field of the performing arts.
-
Each season, around forty training sessions are held, welcoming a total of 1,400 educators who play a key role in passing on the art of theatre to young people. The education service designs training programmes at national and regional level in collaboration with the inspectorate general and the académies of Île-de-France and other regions, within the framework of the academic training plan. Free workshop sessions are offered to volunteer teachers outside school hours, on Wednesday afternoons, focusing on the season's productions, the repertoire, acting, voice and expressive reading. In fulfilment of its mission to extend training activities across the country and abroad, sessions are also offered by videoconference on the performing arts.
