International Circle
The Comédie-Française's ties with the international world are historic: the Troupe has always had an itinerant tradition and has performed to date in more than 80 countries. In the 1960s, the Français was even described as "the theatre of five continents." More recently, a number of iconic Répertoire productions have toured internationally: Le Malade imaginaire in China (2011), Les Damnés in New York (2018) and London (2019), and Hécube, pas Hécube throughout Europe (2024).
The Comédie-Française now offers daily access for English-speaking audiences to all performances at the Salle Richelieu through an innovative system: connected glasses providing individual English-language surtitling, among other options.
In 2025, the Comédie-Française launched its International Circle to bring together ambassadors of French culture and passionate theatre-goers of all nationalities.
As the Fondation pour la Comédie-Française operates under the aegis of the Fondation de France — France's leading philanthropic network — donors may make their gifts in France, in Europe or in the United States, while benefiting from all applicable tax advantages in each territory.
