Pour un oui ou pour un non

H1 et H2 are friends. The former visits the latter. H1 says something which rubs H2 the wrong way. The sudden interruption of the dialogue is replete with unspoken, floating implications. The atmosphere get more and more tense and the conversation gradually becomes a conflict. They may be merely squabbling at first, but as they go on, the two friends who initially wanted to resolve a misunderstanding become more and more enraged. A way to realise how much feuding with words, “pour un oui ou pour un non” (“for no reason”), can be more harmful for friendship than fighting with swords.
