Of the seventy-five individuals buried in the Panthéon, only two are women, Marie Curie and Sophie Berthelot (the latter not being there on personal merit but “in virtue of her marriage”). In partnership with the Comédie-Française, the Centre des Monuments Nationaux proposes, as part of its #MOTSNUS programme of readings, the symbolic admission of women authors to the Panthéon: George Sand, Olympe de Gouges, Colette, Simone de Beauvoir, Marguerite Duras and Marguerite Yourcenar.
