C'est lundi au Vieux-Co : Conveying complexity today

Overwhelmed by real-time information as lightning-fast as it is approximate, we seem to have more and more trouble conveying the complex thoughts which naturally pertain to us as humans. Saturated by a return of morals and over-simplified archetypes, by various populism levers used as the basis for so-called “news”, our frame of reference is blurred, making it more and more difficult to navigate these confusing times. Amidst all that frenzy, theatre remains. A little island of theatre in the middle of the ocean. A strikingly political field, of course, but whose authors from the past cannot be suspected of making abusive use of their language. Theatre is a place of shared experiences, but more importantly, a place echoing how diverse humankind can be, embodied in highly-telling characters stretching from Greek tragedied to our contemporary shores. This Monday’s guests will try and analyse the distance, impetus, and reflective quality found in the reading, performing, and viewing of dramatic pieces.
