A living heritage. Every space in the Comédie-Française speaks of its history, its richness and specificity stemming from more than three centuries of continuous activity. The library-museum team, under the direction of its curator-archivist, is responsible for the preservation and promotion of the exceptional heritage of the House of Molière.
En raison des travaux Salle Richelieu, les visites du site sont disponibles jusqu’à mi-janvier 2026 uniquement. Une offre de remplacement sera accessible de mi-janvier à fin juillet 2026.
Follow in the footsteps of France’s greatest dramatist on a walk through seventeenth-century Paris
The Comédie-Française proposes a guided walk through Paris to follow in Molière’s footsteps. From the church of Saint-Eustache, where he was baptised, to the Rue de Richelieu, his final home, participants learn about the life of the actor, author and troupe leader. The journey ends at the Comédie-Française, where Molière remains the “Patron”, the boss. Guided by a lecturer, visitors are invited to discover the inner workings of this unique theatre: its Troupe and the Repertoire it performs in its alternating programme at the Salle Richelieu.
For school groups (primary school pupils from ages 10 and up, secondary school pupils and students in higher education): groups of between fifteen and thirty young people supervised by adults (ratio of one to eight). Insurance must be paid by the school.
