On 15 October 1913, Jacques Copeau opened the Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier.In 1913, he was 34 years old. He was a man of joy, strength and communion with others. The rigour of his critical analysis already made him the head of a school. He was lucid, fierce, fiery, passionate.On 21 October 2013, we wish to celebrate a thinking that has constantly been present in the great theatrical adventures of the last hundred years and remains, in these uncertain times, a reference for artistic theatre.Rallying around youth, the student actors of the Comédie-Française will be joined in fraternal celebration by actors from the troupe and elsewhere, women and men of theatre who are passionate about Jacques Copeau’s vigorous thinking!
