What is the work of the actor? What is his art made of and how is his practice, his profession and his training constituted?
“What better subject, and what more suitable place to tackle it than in the House of Molière?” asks Olivier Barrot. On five occasions, the writer and journalist will welcome an actor from the company on stage, to question him about his years of apprenticeship and the mechanics of his art. In the course of the interview, the actor will deliver a true master class: in relation to his school and his teachers, how did he learn to walk on a stage, to consider his partners, to pronounce prose, to utter Alexandraine verse, to control his breathing and concentration, to master silence? “Theory, application, exercises”, says the organiser: “every aspect of this most particular and in the end little known work should be approached and illustrated through demonstration.”
