This Sketch is the meeting between a man of the theatre, Simon Eine, and one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th century, Roland Barthes.
Simon Eine’s interest was drawn by the prolific personality of the French semiotician Roland Barthes, who modernised literary and artistic criticism. From Mythologies to The Pleasure of the Text, his analyses of the “sign” and the myth question history, fashion, photography, theatre and advertising in equal measure. Simon Eine offers us a dense and intimate journey into the heart of Barthes’ thinking, assisted for the choice of texts by Nathalie Léger and Jean-Loup Rivière: “Roland Barthes is a style –the man himself.
