For six seasons now, the Comédie-Française has offered young student actors graduating from the major French theatre schools the opportunity of continuing their studies by doing a year’s training with its troupe.
Throughout the year, they perform small pieces from the repertoire on the stages of the Comédie-Française. Alternating theory classes and practical exercises, this apprenticeship is rounded off with a public presentation of their work. This carte blanche event is a chance for the student-actors, under the tutelage of a Comédien-Français, to take responsibility for a performance that prepares them for a professional career.
