Georgia
Scalliet

531e sociétaire

Following a number of internships in France with Catherine Dasté at the Maison Jacques Copeau, then in the United States at the Phillips Exeter Academy, and in England at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), Georgia Scalliet continued her training at the Institute of Broadcasting Arts (IBA) in Belgium and joined the École nationale supérieure des arts et techniques du théâtre (National Higher School for Performing Arts and Techniques – ENSATT) in 2006.

She joined the Comédie-Française in 2009. Her interpretation of the role of Irina in Anton Chekhov’s The Three Sisters under the direction of Alain Françon earned her the 2011 Molière Award of the Best Female Newcomer. She reunited once again with the same director in Goldoni’s The Villeggiatura Trilogy and, outside the realm of the Comédie-Française, in Botho Strauss’s Time and the Room at the National Theater of Strasbourg at the end of 2016.

At the Comédie-Française, Georgia Scalliet mainly performed in plays of the classical repertoire, playing roles in Molière’s The Misanthrope and The Critique of The School for Wives under the direction of Clément Hervieu-Léger, in Les Femmes savantes staged by Bruno Bayen, and in the Amphitryon directed by Jacques Vincey. In the classical repertoire as well, she also performed roles in Marivaux’s Double Inconstancy (La Double Inconstance) staged by Anne Kessler, Racine’s Britannicus directed by Stéphane Braunschweig, in Shakespeare’s Troilus and Cressida staged by Jean-Yves Ruf and in The Merry Wives of Windsor by Andrés Lima. She also played roles in Feydeau’s Un fil à la patte (Cat Among the Pigeons) under the direction of Jérôme Deschamps and in Innocence by contemporary author Dea Loher, and directed by Denis Marleau.

In 2015, Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi directed her, along with other Troupe actors, in an adaptation of Anton Chekhov's The Three Sisters broadcast on Arte.
In the movies, she held in 2015 the lead female role in The Scent of Mandarin (L’Odeur de la mandarine) directed by Gilles Legrand.

Moreover, in 2013, Georgia Scalliet created, produced and performed, along with Franck Vercruyssen, TG STAN’s Après la repetition based on the text of Ingmar Bergman’s After the Rehearsal.
As a result of this collaboration, she founded with the actresses Alma Palacios, Ruth Vega Fernandez and Pauline Moulène the “Liv Collectiv,” whose first creation, adapted from Mishima’s Madame de Sade and the work of Ingmar Bergman, was presented at the Théâtre de la Bastille in 2015.
